Popular Mechanics describes in their April 2018 issue that cryptocurrency could be the future of currency as we know it. In addition to this, the publication explains the process on how to get into investing cryptocurrency, along with the dangers that can come along with it. Since Popular Mechanics hails it as the future, and cryptocurrency is entirely digital, the concept was to follow a futuristic interface, reminiscent of the film 'Tron', to further push the narrative of the article. The new masthead design resembles a section of an wiring diagram, as the magazine often discusses modern technology and electronics.

For this project, the task was to design a new masthead for the publication, as well as a cover page with three spreads. Three different programs were used for the execution of this piece: the artwork was made in Illustrator, the glow effects and chromatic aberration were applied in Photoshop, and the type and final execution were laid out in InDesign.
